INDICATIONS
Mohs surgery is not necessary for all skin cancers. The indications for Mohs surgery have been recently defined based on pathologic tumor characteristics, tumor size, clinical tumor characteristics, and certain host characteristics.6 Scoring is assigned as appropriate (7 to 9), uncertain (4 to 6), or inappropriate (1 to 3) for Mohs surgery based on factors detailed below and in Table 29-1.
