Fillers
Fillers
Residual wrinkling and skin laxity in the neck can be improved with soft-tissue fillers, such as hyaluronic acid (HA), calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA), or poly-L-lactic acid
(PLLA), especially when used in combination with other aesthetic procedures. Fillers can be used in neck rejuvenation to soften necklace lines, redefine the jawline which can improve the submental contour, and intradermal injection for improvement of skin quality. Although the neck was once considered unsuitable for particulate fillers due to the scarcity of subcutaneous tissue and consequent risk of complications,14,15 increasing the dilution ratios raises the safety profile and provides improvement in texture, skin thickness, and wrinkles.1,16 For optimal restoration and multilevel cosmetic revitalization, fillers are frequently combined with light- or energy-based modalities that stimulate tissue contraction and subsequent tightening.3,17,18
