Indications Age and gender play a significant role in brow aesthetics. The ideal female brow sits slightly above the orbital rim, is more arched, peaking approximately two-thirds of the way along its length, and has a slightly higher tail than that of males. In contrast, the male brow tends to be positioned over the orbital rim and is straighter, without peaking or arching.37 The main goal of brow treatment with fillers and botulinum toxin is primarily targeted toward brow reshaping and elevation.
Age-related eyebrow underprojection and ptosis is related to a number of factors including volume loss in the brow fat pad and bone attenuation, especially over the lateral brow. This is accentuated in part by the naturally occurring lack of brow elevators laterally and gradual diminution of cutaneous elasticity.34โ36
