Postoperative complications after limited excision rarely occur. No studies specifically report the complications of limited excision followed by secondary healing. One study performed 363 operations closely related to a limited excision. The incidence of postoperative complications after secondary intention wound healing was: hypergranulation 7.3%, infection 1.9%, bleeding 1.9%, paresthesia 1.0%, and contracture 0.6%.40
Carbon dioxide laser vaporization The complication rates after CO2 vaporization are low. Lapins et al. did not report postoperative bleeding in 2 case series with a total of 58 patients,36,37 while Mikkelsen et al. described one (1/58; 2%) episode of patient-reported postoperative bleeding and one (1/58; 2%) contracture.39
