Skin needling
Skin needling
Skin needling, also referred to as collagen induction therapy (CIT) also enhances
neocollagenesis. Scar tissue is removed in this procedure by vertical puncturing of the skin. The tools used for this purpose include a rolling barrel with rows of needles. Rolling the device on the skin to achieve 0.1- to 1.3-mm penetration creates holes similar to the way fractional ablative lasers create โnoncontiguous columns of thermal injury, with healthy tissue interspersed to promote healing.โ67
