The lateral subunit of the upper lip is bounded by the nasolabial fold, the alar crease, the philtrum, and the vermillion border. Nonmelanoma skin cancer of the upper lip is very common. Hence, repair of the upper lip lateral subunit is a frequently required reconstruction.
