The Hughes flap is traditionally used for large, full-thickness defects of the lower eyelid involving >50 % of the lid margin. It is a tarsoconjunctival flap from the upper eyelid that reconstructs the posterior lamella. The anterior lamella is often repaired

with a full-thickness skin graft or advancement flap.
