Persistent erythema

Persistent erythema

Mild erythema along the suture lines is not uncommon, and spontaneously resolves by 1 month. However, persistent erythema may occur, particularly in patients with rosacea or fair skin. Neovascularization or telangiectasias may also occur in high-tension wound closures.10 These take longer to resolve, and pulsed-dye laser or intense pulsed light may be helpful.
