The bilobed flap has limited utility on the ear as there is a dearth of mobile skin available for recruitment. The flap may be utilized for select helical rim defects, particularly when the final lobe can be drawn to recruit skin from the postauricular sulcus. While acceptable results have been published, free grafts, helical rim advancement flaps, or pedicle flaps may be more useful in this location.
