This is a minimally reactive suture that has the ability to move smoothly through tissue. It does have a fair amount of memory, and therefore may be slightly more challenging to work with than nylon. Extra throws are often advisable during knot tying as well, though this does represent a good option for nonabsorbable subcuticular suturing.
