Follow-up
Follow-up
Activity restrictions—it is often helpful to discuss this in front of a family member
Wound care—instructions should be given orally and provided in writing with
instructions on who to call with problems or concerns
Follow-up—appointments should be scheduled if needed and it is helpful to
inform patients if more than one visit will be needed
Healing—preparing patients for what may occur postoperatively can eliminate
anxiety and minimize phone calls. Discussing swelling, bruising, scarring, and the potential for scar revision upfront will help patients know what to expect as their wound heals
